Christopher F Foss – Editor Jane’s Armoured Fighting Vehicles and co-edition Jane’s Artillery and Air Defence
Christopher F Foss has been writing on armoured fighting vehicles, artillery and other weapon systems since 1970 and has written and edited over 100 books on this and allied subjects.
These include Armoured Fighting Vehicles of the World, Jane’s World Armoured Fighting Vehicles, Jane’s Main Battle Tanks, Jane's Light Tanks and Armoured Cars, Jane's Armoured Personnel Carriers, Jane’s Tank Recognition Guide which is now in its 6th edition and Artillery of the World.
He is currently editor of Jane’s Armoured Fighting Vehicles and co-edition of Jane’s Artillery and Air Defence.
For the latter he is responsible for the complete sections of towed and self-propelled artillery and artillery rocket systems.
He is also editor of Jane’s System Upgrades and associate editor of Jane’s Logistics, Support and Unmanned.
He has also contributed articles on a wide range of land based weapon systems to numerous defence magazines all over the world and is also currently Jane’s Land Consultant for Jane’s Defence Weekly and Contributing Editor Land Forces for Jane's International Defence Review.
Christopher has lectured on armoured vehicles and other weapon systems in a number of countries and has now driven some 50 vehicles, tracked and wheeled.
The armies of Asia face many challenging operating scenarios, both in home theatres and in the many PSO missions that these armies participate in around the world. At the same time there is a wealth of technological development taking place to field better and better vehicles.
